alma:s Architekten is an architecture studio in Frankfurt am Main with a focus on building within existing structures. We accompany conversions, renovations, extensions and interior fit-out projects for private clients and companies in the Rhine-Main region. Our goal is to develop existing buildings further and to create spaces that are functional, sustainable and architecturally convincing.
alma:s story
Our story begins with a shared passion: architecture. But it is also shaped by our enthusiasm for travelling, art and discovering different cultures. These influences have formed the way we look at spaces, cities and building culture – and connected us in a very special way.
Over the past eight years we have walked this path together – privately and professionally. Through many experiences, projects and conversations, a shared architectural attitude emerged step by step. Not only did our partnership grow, but also the desire to bring our own ideas and our architectural signature into the world.
After many years of professional experience in different projects and contexts, the decision finally came: to found our own studio – as a joint project and as an expression of our convictions. That is how alma:s Architekten came to be.
How alma:s works
At alma:s Architekten we work hand in hand as partners. We accompany every project personally – with attention, care and a genuine interest in the people and places we build for.
The direct exchange with our clients is a central part of our design process. In joint conversations we develop solutions that combine functional requirements with design quality.
A particular focus of our work lies in dealing with existing buildings. They carry stories, qualities and potential that need to be recognised. This is how spaces emerge that connect past and present – making hidden qualities visible and strengthening them.

For alma:s, architecture means creating spaces for people – places where you feel comfortable and enjoy living. Every building has its own character, and we want to recognise its existing qualities and develop them carefully.
Our vision is to design spaces that convey warmth and joy and blend well into their existing surroundings. We want every space we design to bring tangible added value to the people who use it – a place where you feel understood and welcome.
We believe that architecture changes not only buildings, but also the way people experience spaces. That is why we accompany every project with great attention to detail, materiality and spatial quality.
