From Floor Plan to Completion: Our Design Process

A good project begins long before the first building application. For us, it always starts with a conversation: how is a space used, what needs and wishes lie behind the brief, and what constraints exist — legal, structural, financial? Only once these questions are clarified does the real design work begin.

From that first idea, we develop floor plan variations, which we discuss and refine together with our clients. Sketches, feasibility studies and simple models help make spatial relationships tangible long before the first wall is built. This iterative process is essential: it creates space to test ideas, weigh alternatives, and ultimately arrive at a solution that truly works.

With planning permission and the subsequent execution planning, the design becomes concrete. Details of materials, junctions and technical systems are defined, tradespeople are brought on board, and schedules are coordinated. We also stay closely involved during construction, so that the quality of the design is carried through to the very last detail.

At the end comes the handover — the moment when plans become built space. For us, that’s the most rewarding part of every project: seeing a home or building finally feel exactly as it once existed only as an idea.
